Beer Bods Review

Beer Bods, beer delivered to you by the post! How have I never heard of this service before!

In October 2015 I went on a family holiday to the Algarve and shared the driving between myself and one other. As a result of doing some of this driving I received an envelope in the post from a relative that wanted to say thank you. I wasn't sure what the postcard that was inside was all about and thought it was junk mail because it had been sent to directly by the owners of Beer Bods, luckily I didn't throw it away and kept it.

A couple of weeks passed and I was talking to the relative over email and Beer Bods was mentioned again. I was told that it was a 12 week gift subscription that had been sent to me and this caused me to look in more detail at the card. A week later and my first set of Beers arrived via Parcel Force in a large box and I was away.

Beer Bods is a subscription service for beer. The idea behind this is that you taste 1 beer a week for 12 weeks until your next subscription arrives. The beers that Beer Bods provide are all from micro style breweries and are a mix of al types of brews from IPA's (Indian Pale Ales) to Stouts and Porters.

Each beer is drunk on a Thursday and the idea behind this is that you drink along with all of the other subscribers around the UK and comment on their site about the beer. 12 weeks currently costs just £36 which makes each beer only £3 and this is a fair price given the quality of the beers you get.

The only other way to buy into Beer Bods other than the 12 weeks subscription service which renews every 12 weeks is to buy a gift subscription which lasts for just 12 weeks. This currently sits at £36 but does not automatically renew, and this was how I got into Beer Bods. 12 weeks later and I am now the proud owner of a subscription and my next set of 12 beers.

In the coming weeks I will post a page for each of the beers that I have tried along with some videos.

Overall I like this subscription service. Its a novel idea and the gift subscription trapped me. The website is nice but a little basic but the ordering process is easy and really smooth. Beers are normally delivered within 2 days. In a nutshell, Beer, what's not to like.
